The limited edition Fiasconaro x Dolce & Gabbana citrus & saffron panettone is a Christmas treat to remember. The panettones are packed with large pieces of candied Sicilian lemon, orange and mandarin peels, with a hint of exotic saffron. Each panettone is presented in a hatbox-style tin adorned with Dolce & Gabbana’s vibrant designs.
Domenico Dolce is originally from Polizzi Generosa in Palermo, Sicily, so the designer jumped at the chance to celebrate his home country with bespoke designs for Fiasconaro.
He designed two similar tins for the same panettone, so you can look through the images to decide which one you prefer:
Fiasconaro was founded in Castelbuono, Sicily in 1953 by Mario Fiasconaro. Mario started out as an ice-cream maker and pastry chef, and his first great masterpieces were mountains of profiteroles. His three sons, Fausto, Nicola and Martino, began learning the art of pastry when they were children. Today, the three brothers still lead the company. Nicola is the production manager and an award-winning pastry chef. You’ll taste his expertise in every bite of Fiasconaro’s luxurious panettones and torrone.
